What's In a Name?
The names associated with the company behind the Armored Puppet series of model kits can be confusing. Here, I attempt to clear any confusion.
Timeline:
- According to their official website, the company starts out as KEMO TOYS and is established in 2018.
- Their model kit line is known as No.57, also known as FIFTYSEVEN and Number 57. KEMO TOYS makes an official Weibo account named after this line, "@Number-57". They start posting in 2020.
- The @Number-57 account then announces that they would change their name to "@默启-KEMO" ("mò qǐ" Kemo) in a June 15th, 2023 post.
- Finally, KEMO TOYS changes their name to MoRise Hobby on September 15th, 2024. Their Weibo account name is silently changed to "@默启-MoRiseHobby."
As you can see, the company only has two names: KEMO TOYS (aka KEMO) and MoRise Hobby. The confusion comes from online retailers often putting the brand name, No. 57 (aka FIFTYSEVEN and Number 57), as the manufactuer or series.
What about Creative Field?
You may see the name "Creative Field" on some of the early boxes of Armored Puppet kits. I was unable to find a source that tells us who they are, but given that their logo is replaced by the KEMO and MoRise logos, this may be yet another name for KEMO/MoRise.
